Maine farm joins Lay’s Super Bowl challenge

MARS HILL, Maine (WAGM) – One Aroostook County farm is getting a Super Bowl spotlight this Sunday by taking part in “The Lay’s Challenge”.
Lay’s says it is working directly with McCrum Farms, known as County Super Spuds, in Mars Hill as part of a national promotion tied to the big game.
The challenge is meant to prove Lay’s can go from potato to bag in 72 hours or less, getting fans a fresh bag of chips after the game.
During the Super Bowl, viewers can scan a code shown in the commercial to sign up for a delivery, and Lay’s says consumers will be able to track their bag’s journey from the farm it came from to their doorstep.
For Mars Hill, it is a rare chance for a local farming business to be part of one of the biggest TV nights of the year.
