Mike Smith: New York Giants getting proven winner in John Harbaugh

Former Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith recently shared his insights on the New York Giants’ hiring of John Harbaugh as their new head coach, praising the veteran leader’s credentials and potential impact.

Speaking with Betway, Smith highlighted Harbaugh’s extensive experience and winning pedigree. He offered a full assessment for Giants supporters.

“I would tell Giants fans that they’re getting a coach who is detailed, organised, and a proven winner who is a leader of men. That’s why he was the number one available coach in this hiring cycle,” Smith said. “He was one of the most well-lauded special teams coordinators for a long, long time in Philadelphia, and has also coached on the defensive side of the ball. He managed 193 wins as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, and that includes a Super Bowl victory.

“So, he’s got the pelts on the wall to help the Giants become a team to be reckoned with. And I think that will happen very quickly.  John and his staff are going to work tirelessly with the front office to evaluate the roster now and identify parts they need to add in free agency and the draft.”

Smith emphasized Harbaugh’s background in special teams and defense, along with his nearly 200 career wins and Super Bowl title with Baltimore, positioning him as an ideal fit to elevate the Giants’ young core into a competitive force swiftly through roster evaluation and strategic additions.
