Kaley Cuoco admits sleeping separately from fiancé Tom Pelphrey has been a relationship ‘game changer’

Kaley Cuoco shared the secret to her and Tom Pelphrey’s relationship success: separate beds.
The “Big Bang Theory” alum revealed on the “Armchair Expert” podcast Monday that her fiancé, 43, was the one to propose that he spend nights in their guest room.
With their 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, and multiple rescue dogs in bed with the couple, the actor finally declared, “I can’t do this anymore.”

Cuoco, 40, acknowledged that she and Pelphrey were already on “different sleeping schedules” anyway, with the actress always “tiptoe[ing] around” her partner in the morning.
“He writes at night. He reads. It’s his quiet time,” the “Vanishing” star explained. “So he’s up late and wakes up late on a non-working day. We established this from day one. I go to bed early, and I wake up early.”
When Pelphrey broached the subject during couples therapy, Cuoco was initially resistant and worried, “What will people think?”

She recalled, “He’s like, ‘I never see you at night.’ I don’t see him. It’s not our sexy time. We don’t cuddle. We don’t see each other at night. He goes, ‘Why do you care?’ And I sat there and I went, ‘God, I don’t care.’ And he goes, ‘Let’s try it.’”
Cuoco called this the “best decision” they’ve made, which has made them “so much happier” as a couple.
“It works great for us,” she gushed, noting that they “love [their] TV time together but never do it in bed.”

Co-host Monica Padman asked whether Cuoco was hesitant to make the change due to “trauma” from her past failed marriages, which she confirmed.
The “Flight Attendant” alum, notably, was married to tennis star Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, followed by equestrian Karl Cook from 2018 to 2022.
She and Cook, 35, made headlines for maintaining separate homes during the majority of their three-year marriage.

They moved in together in 2020 and called it quits the following year, finalizing their divorce in 2022.
Cuoco dived into the aftermath on Monday’s episode, remembering how “horrible” and “heart-wrenching” it was.
Similarly, she opened up on “The Drew Barrymore Show” over the weekend about feeling “depressed” and “so sad” post-split.

Cuoco started dating Pelphrey in 2022, which she detailed to Padman, 38, and Dax Shepard.
After meeting at the “Ozark” premiere, Cuoco “ditched” her friends to have tea with Pelphrey at New York City’s Whitby Hotel.
The couple welcomed Matilda in 2023 and got engaged the next year.
