National clothing chain files for Chapter 11; Cincinnati-area location could close

(CNN/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) – Eddie Bauer has announced plans to enter into a restructuring support agreement and file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as it seeks a buyer for its North American operations.
The company that operates Eddie Bauer stores in the United States and Canada said Monday that most locations will remain open during the restructuring process. Company officials said stores could close if a buyer is not found.
Eddie Bauer cited declining sales and uncertainty related to tariffs as key factors behind the decision. Company leaders said they are working to limit the impact on employees, customers and other stakeholders during the process.
The bankruptcy filing applies only to Eddie Bauer’s U.S. and Canadian operations. Stores outside North America are not included and will continue operating as usual, the company said.
There is one area location at Liberty Center in Liberty Township.
