Amad admits there’s one teammate at Man Utd who’s even quicker than him and better finisher as well

Manchester United and Ivory Coast winger Amad Diallo has now raved about the talents of one key Red Devils first-team player at Old Trafford.

Amad Diallo has been a regular starter in the 2025-26 Premier League season under both former Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim and interim head coach Michael Carrick.

The 23-year-old Ivorian forward has registered three assists and netted twice in 20 matches across all competitions for Manchester United in the 2025-26 season.

Amad missed the tail end of Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd managerial reign after he was called up for international duty with the Ivory Coast at the 2025 AFCON tournament.

The Red Devils talent made his return to Old Trafford in the aftermath of Amorim’s sacking as Man Utd head coach and has continued to play a key role for his side.

Amad Diallo talks up Bryan Mbeumo’s abilities after the Man Utd summer signing’s debut season at Old Trafford

Amad Diallo had been playing as a right wing-back under former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim after the Red Devils signed Bryan Mbeumo last summer.

Bryan Mbeumo was deployed as the right-sided No 10 in Amorim’s polarising Man Utd tactical system, which led to a position change for Amad this season.

However, Michael Carrick has since restored Amad to his natural position on the right wing and Mbeumo has been playing as the lone forward for Man Utd.

Speaking to FotMob, Amad was asked to compare his own stats with United teammate Mbeumo, who arrived at Old Trafford from Brentford last July.

The Ivory Coast and United star admitted that Mbeumo is a much faster player than him and even put him ahead of him when it came to finishing in the final third.

In the head-to-head battle of key traits, Amad made sure to talk up his own abilities when they were compared with Cameroon and United attacker Bryan Mbeumo.

The ex-Atalanta and Sunderland man insisted that his passing is better than Mbeumo’s and put himself ahead of the ex-Bees ace when it comes to creativity.

Amad rated his defending skills ahead of Mbeumo and the Ivorian forward believes that he also edges out the 26-year-old United forward for first touch as well.

“I think we both have a good first touch, but maybe me a little bit… just a little bit better [than him],” he said.

Mbeumo has netted 10 times and registered one assist in 21 matches across all competitions for Man Utd in the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford.
