BYU football’s Parker Kingston told police sexual activity was consensual as he faces rape charge

Parker Kingston is being held in jail without bail. He is set to appear in court on Friday.

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) BYU Cougars wide receiver Parker Kingston (11) runs for a touchdown as BYU hosts TCU, NCAA football in Provo on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.

BYU football player Parker Kingston told police that “all sexual activity” with the woman who has accused him of raping her was consensual, according to court documents unsealed Thursday.

Prosecutors filed the first-degree felony rape charge against Kingston under seal Tuesday, writing that the 21-year-old from Layton was a “flight risk and a danger to the community.”

Kingston was arrested on Wednesday and is currently being held in a Washington County jail without bail. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in 5th District Court in St. George on Friday.

The woman, then 20, first reported a sexual assault to officers at a southern Utah hospital on Feb. 27, 2025, according to a probable cause statement.

Kingston went to the woman’s home in Washington County in the “early morning hours” of Feb. 23, 2025, watched a movie and “engaged in some sexual activity” that did not include intercourse, the charges state.

“Kingston started to fall asleep, so [the woman] left the room to get ready for bed. When she returned approximately 15 minutes later, Kingston initiated sexual activity again. She told Kingston to stop several times and tried to push him off of her,” the charges state, but Kingston allegedly forced her to have sex.

The woman met with forensic experts in June, according to court documents, telling them before she met with Kingston that she said, “multiple times that she did not want to have sex with him, and if that was the reason he wanted to meet up, he should not come,” the court documents state.

Kingston later told detectives, “all sexual activity was consensual,” according to court documents. Detectives said that “based on communications obtained from Kingston’s cell phone after the incident, it can be inferred that he went to her apartment with the intention of having sexual intercourse,” according to the charges.
