Another earthquake reported overnight in Dorchester County

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — With mere hours having passed since the last one, the U.S. Geological Survey has reported another Dorchester County earthquake.
The earthquake happened in the Summerville area, off the intersection of Ashley River and Dogwood Ridge Roads, just after 3:50 a.m. Thursday.
Officials say it was a 1.8 magnitude earthquake with a depth of 5 kilometers, which is just slightly over 3 miles.
This earthquake is just the latest in a series of them in the same area.
Specifically, this marks the fifth earthquake in Dorchester County since Feb. 3, including one that happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday just on the other side of the Ashley River.
Experts and affected residents alike have spoken about the series of quakes as the trend as continued.
