Iowa State remains undefeated at home with win over No. 2 Houston

Iowa State stormed back late in the second half to defeat Houston 70-67 in a Monday night battle of two top-10 teams.
Nate Heise drilled a corner three with under 90 seconds remaining to give Iowa State a two-point lead. The Cyclones stopped the Cougars on their final possessions to remain undefeated at home this season.
Iowa State took advantage of Houston turnovers throughout the contest, scoring 12 points off the Cougars” mistakes. Houston finished the game with just two steals and zero fast-break points.
Houston freshman Kingston Flemings led the game in scoring with 22 points on over 50% shooting. Forward Joshua Jefferson led Iowa State with 12 points while adding six rebounds and five assists.
The Cyclones improved to 23-3 on the season and will face off against BYU on Saturday. Houston, which jumped to No. 2 in the AP Poll earlier Monday, fell to 23-3 and takes on Arizona this weekend.
