LETTERS: Appleton reader thankful for local hockey association

As the regular hockey season draws to a close, I would like to offer a public thank you to the board members and volunteers of the Appleton Area Hockey Association.

Managing an organization of this size – a Division 1 association with over 400 skaters—is a massive undertaking. These are our neighbors, people with their own careers and families, who sacrifice their personal time so our children can learn about teamwork, respect, and adversity while chasing a puck and a dream. They often stand on the front lines of every complaint and logistical headache with a level of commitment that is nothing short of inspiring.

To the AAHA board and the army of volunteers: Thank you for your patience, your tired eyes, and your unwavering hearts. The joy of watching our kids grow on the ice is only possible because of your tireless efforts. Every child that finds their balance, or lifts a teammate up, is the testament to the community you have built. You have provided the foundation for us to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Please know that we parents in the stands are profoundly grateful. The cheers heard across our arenas this year are a direct reflection of the hard work and sacrifices you have made. We see you, and you are simply awesome.

Matt Feucht,

Appleton
