Nancy Guthrie cops’ 6-word update on blood-covered clothing – Celebrity News – Entertainment

Police have issued an update after it was reported that a couple from Arizona had allegedly stumbled across a bloodied glove and a rock in the desert, near Nancy Guthrie’s home.

It comes as the hunt for the 84-year-old mom of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie enters its fourth week after it was suspected she was taken against her will from her bedroom in Tucson, Arizona, on the night of January 31.

The pair who have spoken anonymously say they found the items discarded on the ground off Campbell Avenue in the Catalina Foothills. They said that one of the gloves was about 10 feet away from the rock, on top of which was another glove.

After seeing the suspicious items, they took a closer look and “sure enough, it was a black glove in the desert. It appeared to have looked like it was ripped. It also appeared to look like it had blood on it,” they told the outlet.

“There was two different colors. The blood was more towards the wrist side of the glove, and on the pointer finger, it looked like it was ripped.”

“It didn’t just look like a regular glove. It looked like this was a glove used for something that could’ve possibly been what they were looking for,” the wife explained.

After taking pictures of the item and the surrounding scene without touching anything, they then spotted the rock on which a second glove was lying, and it appeared to have at least one blood splatter.

“And also from the glove, it looked like a blood drop on a rock underneath the glove was like dried blood or something,” the husband added.

“We didn’t move it or touch it. We immediately were like, we have to do something. So I was like I will call the sheriff department.”

Officers questioned the couple who were allowed to leave the scene while investigators stayed until around 2am, according to the outlet.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has since announced that the gloves would be tested if they were taken in as evidence by the officers on scene; however, it’s unclear if this has happened.

“We cannot confirm at this time. Detectives and agents have collected multiple gloves from the area and analysis is part of the investigation,” the department told the news outlet.

Several gloves have been recovered from the surrounding area and sent for testing, but there have been no DNA matches to results in the FBI’s database.
