‘The Voice’ Adds Influencer Druski As Commentator

The Voice is clearly going after a younger audience with its upcoming season after adding popular content creator Druski to its books.
NBC has set Druski as a special commentator for Season 29, which is billed as The Voice: Battle of Champions.
Druski broke out in 2021 when he launched Coulda Been Records, which became a way for musicians to appear on his Instagram Lives and for him to make fun of the likes of Drake, Kevin Hart, Timothee Chalamet, Justin Bieber, J. Cole and Snoop Dogg. He has self-produced shows such as Could Been Love and Coulda Been House as well as comedy and music festival Coulda Fest. He courted controversy earlier this year at the NFL Honors when he mispronounced Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name after the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver won Offensive Player of the Year.
Druski becomes the first ever commentator for the show and he will offer takes on the coaches’ strategies, tracking the Triple Turn Competition and Super Steal. He is expected to be joined by a slew of NBA stars across the season.
This comes after The Voice was supersized by NBC with every episode having a two-hour episode after the decision to pull drama Brilliant Minds from the schedule.
The show, which premieres tonight, February 23, will reunite Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine as coaches, the first time they are back together since Season 16.
It was shot at the same time as Season 28, which featured Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan and Reba McEntire. Carson Daly hosts.
The network has previously said that it will be “infused with fast-paced, competitive elements”, inspired by NBC Sports, which has aired Super Bowl LX, the Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games and the NBA All-Star Game in February.
The Voice is produced by MGM Television, Warner Bros Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios’ The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
