Taylor Swift ‘blown away’ by chart success of Opalite

Taylor Swift is “bouncing off the walls” with excitement following the chart success of Opalite.
On Monday, the music superstar took to Instagram to celebrate the single, featured on her twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl, topping the Billboard Hot 100.
Upbeat track Opalite follows lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, in dominating the chart, and marks her 14th number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Just a few Opalite memories to celebrate the Hot 100 #1 you guys just got this song!!” she captioned a carousel of behind-the-scenes videos from the recording of Opalite in the studio with producers Max Martin and Shellback, as well as some clips of her filming the accompanying music video. “I can’t even sum up my excitement and I’m so blown away by the love you’ve shown this song and video.”
Taylor went on to note that it’s the first time she has had two Billboard Hot 100 number ones since she released the album 1989 in 2014 – over 12 years ago.
“I know that’s a lot of numbers but it all adds up to me being so thankful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms. Seriously bouncing off the walls about this!!” the 36-year-old continued.
To conclude, Taylor expressed her gratitude to her fans once again.
“Just wanted to say THANK YOU, might go buy a giant pretzel at the mall to celebrate, iykyk (if you know, you know),” she added, referring to a scene in the Opalite video.
Shot on film, the music video sees Taylor and actor Domhnall Gleeson play two lonely individuals who fall in love after using an “Opalite” potion.
The footage also features Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, and Graham Norton, as well as a cameo from Cillian Murphy – with the cast all having appeared on an episode of The Graham Norton Show last October.
