One of the most anticipated action thriller sequels in recent memory just got a major casting update. In addition to Leonardo DiCaprio, Heat 2 is set to feature a former Batman actor in what is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. It’s been over 30 years since the release of the original movie, and while the sequel may not feature Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in their iconic roles, it’s hard to imagine a better set of actors taking over the crime thriller franchise.

In an interview with Jake Hamilton, Christian Bale revealed that he will be “back in Chicago soon for HEAT 2,” the long-awaited sequel to the classic crime thriller that is also set to star DiCaprio in a key role. It was previously reported that he was in talks for the film, but the actor himself has finally confirmed his involvement. As of this writing, it has not been revealed who Bale might play in the sequel. Based on Mann’s 2022 novel, Heat 2 is set to bounce back and forth between the past and present events of the ending of the original film, telling the story of how the main characters came to be.

More to come.
