‘Hamilton’ and more of Broadway’s biggest musicals are coming to Vancouver

Broadway Across Canada is bringing an iconic lineup to Vancouver in 2026 and 2027, and it’s your chance to enjoy everything you love about Broadway musicals without a trip to NYC.

Five award-winning and fan-favourite shows have been announced for the upcoming season at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre starting in the fall.

According to Shana Levin, vice president of Broadway Across Canada, the next season promises to be a magical experience.

“Live theatre has a unique way of bringing people together, and that sense of shared experience is at the heart of what we do,” said Levin.

“By presenting Broadway productions in cities across Canada, we’re creating opportunities for communities like Vancouver to come together, experience something extraordinary, and feel the magic of Broadway close to home.”

The festivities kick off in November with & Juliet running from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4.

The uproarious musical is created by the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek and asks the question: what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo? Shakespeare’s greatest love story is reimagined with a pop-music twist and a powerful message about owning your own destiny.

Next is the highly anticipated Disney’s Beauty and the Beast from Nov. 24 to 29, filled with all the iconic songs from the beloved animated classic. This is Disney’s first North American touring production of the musical in over a quarter century, and features stunning new sets and amazing costumes, too.

Fans will also want to pick up tickets for Broadway Across Canada’s presentation of Mrs. Doubtfire, which will be taking over the Queen E from Jan. 19 to 24. The musical adaptation of the Robin Williams’ timeless film tells the hilarious and heartwarming tale of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his children.

Hamilton, the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, comes to Vancouver later in the spring, from May 26 to June 13. The smash Broadway musical has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education and has fans all over the world.

Hamilton has also won numerous awards, including a Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Award, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
