Connecticut sends snow removal resources to Rhode Island

(WJAR) — Connecticut is sending some much-needed help to Rhode Island.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced he is sending snow removal personnel and equipment to the Ocean State.
Residents have grown frustrated as side roads remain snow-covered, while local governments focus on main roads and other priorities.

In a release, Connecticut says it is sending 80 pieces of equipment that includes trucks and snowblowers.
The state is also sending 125 trained drivers and mechanics from its department of transportation.
Connecticut says it expects to work 24-hour shifts through at least Sunday, March 1.
“Connecticut is prepared to support our neighbors in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and deliver aid to help in the clean-up from this blizzard,” said Gov. Lamont in a statement.

The Blizzard of 26 broke the previous record of snowfall that was previously set by the legendary Blizzard of 78.
