Thousands of Newfoundland Power customers are without electricity on Friday morning due to a trip on the Labrador-Island Link transmission line.
In a statement posted on social media, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro said the power interruption is impacting people in many areas across the island, but the company doesn’t anticipate the issue lasting long.
“These outages should be brief and restoration is underway for many customers,” the statement reads.
Newfoundland Power is reporting outages ranging from the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, through the north coast and central Newfoundland and as far west as Channel-Port aux Basques.
