NFL Insider Thinks Raiders Could Trade Maxx Crosby in the Next 7 to 10 Days

The Raiders have given every indication that Maxx Crosby is expected to be with the team next year, but there is reason to believe a lot still needs to be sorted about between Crosby and the team for that to happen.
As many have pointed out, it’s possible that a resolution to Crosby’s situation won’t come until he is back to full strength following knee surgery last month.
But it sounds like it’s also possible the Raiders could trade Crosby even as he is recovering from meniscus surgery.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Crosby could be dealt sooner than later, and it could happen as soon as next week.
“I would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,” Pelissero said on the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday.
“You heard what John Spytek said in this room. He expects Maxx to be back, great relationship, texting and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media and podcasts to potentially respond.”
“I would say the Raiders don’t need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Maxx Crosby gets traded in the next 7 to 10 days? I believe there is,” Pelissero continued.
“We’re not there yet in terms of a deal actually getting done, but almost every player in the NFL has a price… To me, [the Crosby situation] tracks toward push this as far as you can, maximize your leverage by saying we’re going to keep the guy here, see what type of calls you get. I’m not aware of the Raiders calling anyone. I do believe that they are getting calls, and I do believe there’s a possibility of Maxx Crosby being traded sometime between now and the start of the league year.”
According to the California Post’s Vinny Bonsignore, Crosby’s representatives are expected to meet with the Raiders soon and that meeting will go a long way toward deciding Crosby’s future with the team.
It’s worth noting that some of Crosby’s go-to sources in the media haven’t been particularly optimistic that he will be back in Las Vegas next year, so it will be interesting to see how things play out in the weeks ahead.
Teams are absolutely calling about Crosby, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise if a Super Bowl contender (maybe a team that’s been in the Super Bowl in the last year or two) is willing to give up a pair of first-round picks for Crosby.
