Makai Lemon: Playing alongside Giants’ youth ‘would be a huge blessing’

The 2026 NFL Combine is in full swing, and the New York Giants are keeping busy with meeting players and evaluating workouts.

This is the time when teams get to know the prospective players on a more personal level, and they get to mingle with each other and put out feelers for what they might do during the draft and free agency. Paying attention to the players they meet with this week is key.

One of the players they met with was USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, who was asked about the Giants on Friday.

Lemon discussed what it would be like to play with Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, and Jaxson Dart.

“Yeah, I met with them, and it would be a huge blessing. Those guys are young guys, you know? They’re great players, so to be alongside them would be cool,” he said.

In his three years at USC, Lemon recorded 137 receptions for 2,008 yards and 14 touchdowns. Well over half of that production came in his final year with the team. His 79 receptions for 1,159 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025 were enough to land him the Biletnikoff Award as the best college wide receiver in the NCAA. He was also named first-team All-Big Ten and a unanimous All-American.

Lemon also has experience rushing the ball, returning kicks and punts, has thrown passes in games, and even stepped in as a cornerback at USC when injuries became a problem. He racked up 2,835 all-purpose yards during his college career.

Lemon is seen as a player who can replace Wan’Dale Robinson, who is set to become a free agent next month.
