Leicester vs Norwich preview
Leicester have endured a difficult campaign but they are showing more positive signs in their battle against relegation and can claim a vital three points by defeating injury-ravaged Norwich.
The Foxes find themselves in the Championship’s bottom three with 12 games remaining and at serious risk of a second successive relegation, but they have responded well to the arrival of wily manager Gary Rowett, who has overseen draws at home to Stoke (2-2) and at Middlesbrough (1-1) in his first two matches at the helm.
Rowett has a wealth of experience at this level and is known for making his teams well-organised and hard to beat. And those attributes already seem to be rubbing off on Leicester’s players, who were full value for their point at title-chasing Boro in midweek.
The Foxes will need to turn draws into victories if they want to pull away from the danger zone and they have a fantastic opportunity against a Norwich side expected to be missing up to 14 senior players.
The Canaries are especially short of options up front. Josh Sargent, who scored 51 goals in three-and-a-half seasons in the Championship, is close to joining MLS side Toronto FC and Jovon Makama and Mohamed Toure are among those unavailable to boss Philippe Clement.
Toure was forced off during Wednesday’s 2-0 triumph over relegated Sheffield Wednesday, which was was a fairly routine exercise for the Canaries.
However, their sheer number of absentees could be much more damaging for Saturday’s trip to Leicester, who can breathe life into their survival bid with a much-needed victory.
