Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter to join Fred again.. on final night of USB002 tour

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter will join Fred again.. as a special guest tonight (Friday, 27th February) for the closing show of his USB002 tour.

The legendary French artist — who played his first DJ set in 16 years last October in Paris alongside Fred again.., Erol Alkan and Busy P — is set to make a rare London appearance as part of the four-night USB002 residency at Alexandra Palace.

The residency kicked off earlier this month and has already seen Fred again.. perform alongside a host of UK rap and dance music artists including Underworld, Mike Skinner, Ezra Collective, D Double E, JME, Headie One, and Lou Noor, fka SICARIA.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Fred again.. shared a photo of himself with Bangalter, writing: “I can’t believe I’m typing this. There is only one way to end this tour of surreal whirlwind dream-casting, and it is with this man, the greatest.

“We’ve been in the studio all week and basically prepared an entire one-off show just for tonight.”

The joint appearance will follow on from the two artists previously playing together at the Centre Pompidou in Paris last October. You can find out how Ed Banger founder Busy P persuaded the former Daft Punk member to return to DJing for the gig here.

Fred again.. is among the artists nominated at this year’s BRITs, which take place tomorrow (Saturday, 28th February) in Manchester.
