TVA announces next steps for the continued operation of Kingston and Cumberland Fossil Plants

Workers at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Kingston Fossil Plant in Roane County were evacuated Feb. 25 after a threat was reported. It is under investigation.

TVA spokesperson Scott Brooks said in a statement about the evacuation employee safety is the utility’s first priority.

“We are cooperating fully with local authorities as they investigate an alleged threat at Kingston Energy Complex,” Brooks said in the statement. “We have no further information to share at this time.”

Knox News reached out to the Roane County Sheriff’s Office for more information but did not receive an immediate response.
