Kate Hudson’s Bespoke Jewelry at the Actor Awards Is Worth Half a Million Dollars

Awards season is rapidly approaching fever pitch. Many are focused on the Oscars, still a few weeks away, but tonight is all about the Actors—the Actor Awards, that is. Among the nominees on the red carpet tonight is Kate Hudson, who is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her turn in Song Sung Blue. Along with her dress, Hudson sparkled in a fully bespoke jewelry suite by Emily P. Wheeler worth $500,000, and created just for tonight’s look. The suite features a wrap-style collar necklace with a 10.15-carat antique peach-toned Desert diamond at its heart—the style also includes pave and dangling diamonds in a waterfall cascade. Her earrings featured a similar motif, with Desert diamonds at the center, and she sported a complementary pave-and-Desert diamond ring.
“Having Kate wear my jewelry for such a special moment is truly a pinch-me experience. She has been a muse of mine for many years, so this feels especially full circle,” Emily Wheeler tells Town & Country. “Seeing the full look come together—and how beautifully she carried it—is a moment I will never forget.”
Sally Morrison, Natural Diamonds Market Lead at De Beers Group, adds, “Kate’s major Desert diamonds jewelry moment from Emily P. Wheeler at the Actors Awards further solidifies the growing demand we have seen for these stones recently. Several of the diamonds used were sourced from Botswana, home to some of the most extraordinary diamonds in the world, making them the perfect complement to these exceptional high jewelry creations.”

It’s been several years since Hudson graced the Actor Awards (known until this year as the SAG Awards.) She last attended the event alongside her mother, Goldie Hawn, in 2018. That year, Hudson was pretty in pink, wearing a dramatic polk dot confection of cascading pink ruffles accented by heart-shaped black dots and a high black lace collar. At the time, Hudson sported her platinum blonde locks in a dainty pixie cut—a major shift from the style she sported this year.

A four-time nominee, Hudson earned her first Actor nod in 2001 when she was nominated in both the Supporting Actress and Outstanding Cast categories for Almost Famous. In 2010, she was nominated a second time in the Outstanding Cast category for the musical Nine, making this the star’s second Actor nod in a musical.
In Song Sung Blue, Hudson plays Claire, one half of the husband and wife Neil Diamond tribute band, Lightning and Thunder, opposite Hugh Jackman. Hudson’s turn has been racking up the accolades this season, earning nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and, of course, the Academy Awards, where Hudson will compete on March 15 to take home the Best Actress in a Leading Role Statue.
