Here’s WAVE News meteorologist Carson Meredith with your forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Our next big weather maker arrives after midnight tonight with widespread rain south of I-64 and a wintry mix over the northern half of the region. Lows fall into the low 30s Monday morning.

The wintry mix continues Monday morning along and north of I-64. Light snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch may cause slick spots on bridges and overpasses before transitioning to rain by midday.

Areas south of I-64 see just rain all day. Scattered rain showers linger Monday evening before briefly tapering off after midnight. Temperatures in the low 40s during the evening rise into the mid 40s overnight.

A wave of showers moves through the region Tuesday. Rain coverage briefly drops off late afternoon into the early evening hours for most locations except for our northern counties in southern Indiana. High temperatures surge into the mid 60s.

Daily chances for rain and storms persist through the entire week ahead. While there will be breaks in the rain from time to time, several inches of rain are possible. This may lead to rising river levels by late week into next weekend, especially across southern Indiana.

Above-average temperatures will also stick around with highs generally in the 60s and 70s over the next 10 days.
