Primaries across Texas on Tuesday will decide who represents each party in November. If no candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two finishers advance to a runoff in May.
TX-18: Redistricting has led two Democratic members of Congress to face off for the same seat in this deep-blue district that includes parts of Houston. Rep. Christian Menefee won a special election early this year to fill the seat long vacant since its previous occupant, Sylvester Turner (D), died in office last year. Challenging him is Rep. Al Green (D), an 11th-term congressman who was recently kicked out of the State of the Union for holding a sign protesting President Donald Trump.
