Injury report: Coby White, Cooper Flagg and more ahead of Hornets vs. Mavericks

The Charlotte Hornets have now won four straight including a win last Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

In that game, the newly acquired Coby White made his home debut, scoring 20 points in 21 minutes.

That said, although White didn’t sustain an injury, he’s been ruled out for Charlotte’s next matchup against the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday.

When being acquired from the Chicago Bulls, the Hornets noticed calf issues in White’s physical, causing him to miss his first seven games following the trade.

As a result, the Hornets are choosing to be cautious with White, sitting him out on the first night of a back-to-back.

This ensures that White is available for Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics, a much tougher matchup on paper.

Apart from White, the rest of Charlotte’s injury report is clear.

In other roster news, the team recalled Tidjane Salaun from the Greensboro Swarm (Charlotte’s G-League affiliate).

As for the Mavericks, they’ll continue to play shorthanded. Derrick Lively II and Kyrie Irving have been ruled out for the season. Naji Marshall and Marvin Bagley II have also been ruled out. Last year’s No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg has been listed as doubtful. Five-time All-Star Klay Thompson has been listed as questionable in addition to former Hornet PJ Washington.

Lastly, another former Hornet, Caleb Martin has been listed as probable.

Editor’s note: PJ Washington has since been upgraded to probable, while Klay Thompson has been downgraded to questionable.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Hornets will travel to face the aforementioned Celtics Wednesday on the second night of a back-to-back.

Dallas on the other hand will continue their current six-game road trip against the Orlando Magic Thursday.
