‘Critical’ update in Nancy Guthrie case as cops in Tucson – Celebrity News – Entertainment

New hope has emerged in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie after federal agents returned to her quiet Tucson neighborhood in a sign that the investigation may be heating up.

“It means the Guthrie case is still in motion. What looks quiet from the outside is the investigative cycle turning,” Pack told Fox News.

Federal agents were seen returning to Guthrie’s neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, although authorities have not revealed the exact reason for their latest visit.

Pack explained that developments like this are common as investigators refine timelines and revisit potential evidence.

“When agents canvass for doorbell and surveillance footage in the first 48 hours, they are working with a rough timeline – but timelines sharpen,” he said.

He says that as additional information begins to come in – including cellphone data and retail purchase records – investigators are often able to narrow their focus.

“As cell phone records come back, as Walmart purchase data is analyzed, as the suspect’s clothing gets traced through retail channels, the timeline tightens and suddenly a neighbor’s answer that seemed irrelevant three weeks ago becomes critical.”

Detectives are said to be now closely examining footage captured by a neighbor’s Ring doorbell camera, which appears to show a vehicle arriving near Guthrie’s home shortly after she disappeared, according to reports.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators are reviewing the clip carefully as they continue piecing together exactly what happened in the early hours of February 1. It comes as authorities believe Guthrie was forcibly taken from her Tucson home that morning.

Despite weeks of investigation, no suspect has been named in the case.

Investigators have also been focusing on a mysterious individual captured in surveillance footage outside Guthrie’s front door around the time she vanished.

The FBI previously released images and video of the person they believe may be connected to the case.

Meanwhile, in an emotional Instagram video posted on February 24, her daughter Savannah Guthrie announced that the family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to Nancy’s recovery.

The TV star revealed the family hopes the significant reward will encourage anyone who may know something to come forward.
