Lightning acquire F Perry from Kings for second-round pick

The Los Angeles Kings have traded forward Corey Perry to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a second-round pick, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.
Perry, 40, had 11 goals and 28 points in 50 games with the Kings this season.
The 6-foot-3 winger joined Los Angeles on a one-year, $2 million contract in the off-season after helping the Edmonton Oilers to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.
This will be Perry’s second stint in Tampa Bay, after spending two seasons with the team from 2021-23. He helped the team reach the 2022 Stanley Cup Final before losing to the Colorado Avalanche.
Drafted 28th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2003, Perry has 459 goals and 963 points in 1,442 career games split between the Ducks, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, Oilers, and Kings.
The two-time, first-team all-star helped the Ducks win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2007, recording six goals and 15 points.
Perry also won the Hart Trophy and Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy in 2011 after recording 50 goals and 98 points in 82 games.
The Peterborough, Ont., native represented Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, bringing home gold both times. He also represented his country three times at the World Championship, winning gold in 2016.
Perry also helped Canada to a first-place finish at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
