Washington Commanders 2026 Free Agency Rumors Tracker

The salary cap has officially been set at $301.2 million for the 2026 season. The NFL’s legal tampering period starts on Monday, 3/9 at 12 pm. The new league year starts on Wednesday, March 11th at 4pm. Contracts reported for free agents with expiring contracts during this two day window won’t be official until the new league year starts. Washington is still trying to sign a few of their pending free agents before they hit the market. They have already signed new contracts with six players, and released two for salary cap and performance.

The Commanders are expected to be active in free agency as they look to improve on last season’s disappointing 5-12 season. They have new offensive and defensive coordinators in David Blough and Daronte Jones respectively, and will be focused on building around franchise QB Jayden Daniels along with rebuilding the defense. Deebo Samuel is one of the biggest names on this pending free agent list, and a lot of people think he’ll enter free agency a year after Washington traded a 5th-round pick for him. Washington also has several old veterans that aren’t expected to return for another year.

Several trades and cuts have already been made, and rumors have been flying since last week’s Combine. What moves will Washington make before free agency officially begins?
