Bears agree to $30 million deal with Browns LB who had two pick-sixes in 2025

The Chicago Bears came into the 2026 NFL offseason with a few key needs to address on the defensive side of the ball.

While their pass rusher spot still needs some help, the Bears have reportedly come to an agreement with standout safety Coby Bryant from the Seattle Seahawks, and now they’ve also come to an agreement with another key defender.

According to ESPNs’ Adam Schefter, the Bears are in agreement on a $30 million contract over three years with Devin Bush. After a breakout season with the Cleveland Browns, Bush is leaving the AFC North to join the NFC North on a big deal.

Bears to sign Devin Bush on $30M deal

“Former Browns LB Devin Bush reached agreement today on a 3-year, $30 million deal that includes $21 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears, per agent Drew Rosenhaus,” Schefter reports.

Bush is a 27-year-old veteran linebacker who was a top-10 pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019. He spent a year with the Seattle Seahawks in 2023 before joining the Browns for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

This past season for the Browns, Bush had a breakout year. He recorded three interceptions, two of which went back for touchdowns.

Bush also had eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 2.0 sacks, 135 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits.

While he didn’t make the Pro Bowl roster or earn an All-Pro nod, the veteran linebacker had a great season for the Browns and is very deserving of this big new deal.

Compared to Tremaine Edmunds, who the Bears were paying $17 million before they released him, this $10 million per-year deal for Bush is a great one for the Bears.

Chicago is landing a top-tier linebacker and looking to revamp their defense for a 2026 Super Bowl run. Bush is a great addition, and isn’t too expensive either.
