Panthers agree to terms with Jaelan Phillips

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers wanted more pop out of their pass-rush, and found it on the first day of the free agency negotiating period.
According to multiple reports, including from NFL Network, the Panthers have agreed to terms with former Eagles outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips.
Phillips, 26, has 28.0 sacks in five seasons in the NFL. He was traded from the Dolphins to the Eagles last year.
The Panthers tied for 28th in the league in sacks last season with 30.0, and were led by rookie outside linebacker Nic Scourton and defensive tackle Derrick Brown with 5.0 each.
