Ruth’s Chris Steak House says ‘proper attire required’ in dress code change

Diners heading to one popular upscale steakhouse chain may want to make sure they are dressed for the occasion.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House has implemented a new dress code for customers in the dining rooms.
Diners must maintain a business dress code, according to People magazine. Hats are banned from the majority of the restaurant.
Guests will be asked to remove hats when they enter the restaurant, according to a notice posted on the restaurant’s website.
If guests keep hats on, then they will be directed to the bar or lounge area instead of the dining room.
Several casual pieces of attire are banned, like gym wear, pool attire and clothes with offensive language or graphics. Revealing clothing like tank tops and exposed undergarments is not allowed in the dining room under the most recent policy.
Restaurant giant Darden Restaurants acquired Ruth’s Chris’ parent company for approximately $715 million. Darden Restaurants’ businesses have a variety of dress codes among its large portfolio of restaurants, like Olive Garden and The Capital Grille.
