Pedro Pascal Shows Up to 2026 Oscars With a Shaved Face

Pedro Pascal caused quite the stir at the 2026 Oscars after showing up with a fresh, cleanly-shaved face.

The 50-year-old actor rocked a white dress shirt adorned with a giant white flower paired with high-waisted black tuxedo pants while walking the 98th Academy Awards red carpet at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 15. Pascal accessorized with a pair of glasses and a simple watch. While he looked great, the actor’s shaved face totally stole the show.

Pascal has been working in Hollywood since his 20s, taking on several guest-starring roles before securing his breakout role as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. Throughout his career, the actor has always been seen with some sort of facial hair.

For Narcos, he kept things cleaner with just a mustache. The Last of Us gave fans a Pascal rocking a gray beard. He was even sporting some stubble in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But seeing Pascal with a clean-shaven face was simply … jarring. Don’t get it twisted, he still looks great, but his Oscars look was certainly a dramatic change.

Pascal was announced as one of the last batch of presenters for Sunday’s awards show, and is set to take the stage alongside Lewis Pullman.

Before Sunday’s red carpet, Pascal actually addressed his facial hair in a July 2025 interview. In fact, the actor said he would never go clean-shaven for a role after 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984.

“I grow such s*** facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off,” Pascal said during an interview with LADbible at the time. “I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me.”

He added, “In Wonder Woman 1984, I was so appalled by the way I look. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary.”

What role is making it necessary? Pascal is set to star in several projects, including The Mandalorian and Grogu, Avengers: Doomsday, Behemoth! and De Noche.
