Special weather statement in effect for Toronto amid 80 km/h winds

A special weather statement remains in effect for Toronto Tuesday morning with winds gusting up to 80 km/h in some areas after an overnight snowfall.
Environment Canada said the strong winds could produce periods of reduced visibility due to the lake effect flurries and blowing snow.
“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Strong winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Local utility outages are possible,” the national weather agency said in its alert.
The blustery conditions are expected to taper off later this morning.
Torontonians woke up to two to four centimtres of snow on the ground Tuesday. Flurries are expected throughout the morning amid local blowing snow.
The city will see a high of -3 C today and a low of -10 overnight. The wind chill will make it feel like -22 this morning and -15 this evening.
Wednesday’s forecast calls for a high of -1 C amid increasing cloudiness. The temperature will climb above freezing on Thursday with a high of 6 C and a 40 per cent chance of showers.
Friday marks the first day of spring, and the temperature will reach a high of 5 C with a chance of rain showers and flurries.
