No trains running on portion of TTC Line 1 and Lakeshore West GO line this weekend

If you are planning to take the TTC or GO Transit this weekend, there are several closures to keep in mind.

Planned work will shut down a portion of the TTC’s Line 1 and GO’s Lakeshore West line. Here’s what you need to know.

TTC

No subways will be running between St. Clair West and St. Andrew stations on Saturday and Sunday.

The TTC says shuttle buses will only run between the St. Clair West and St. George stations.

“While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the end of service each night, it continues to require early weeknight and weekend closures to complete state-of-good-repair work,” the transit agency says.

Dupont, Museum, Queen’s Park, St Patrick and Osgoode stations will be closed this weekend, while the other stations will remain open for customers to purchase their fare.

Regular subway service will resume on Monday at 6 a.m.

GO Transit

GO trains won’t be running between Aldershot and Union stations on the Lakeshore West line on Saturday and Sunday.

“This weekend, planned construction is taking place on Lakeshore West, as part of GO Expansion, with work continuing at Long Branch GO and on the Burloak Drive underpass to support faster and more frequent service,” Metrolinx said in a news release.

The Crown agency added that crews are also doing necessary state-of-good-repair work on the line, including at Etobicoke Creek bridge and Bronte Creek.

GO buses will run from West Harbour and Aldershot GO to the Union Station Bus terminal, with stops at Burlington, Oakville, and Clarkson stations. There will be no GO Transit service at Appleby, Bronte, Port Credit, Long Branch, Mimico and Exhibition GO.

Trains will be running between Aldershot and Niagara Falls stations. Metrolinx says trains that are regularly scheduled to begin and end at Confederation and West Harbour stations will not operate.
