Police on the scene after Saturday’s shooting incident at Market Place Mall in Champaign.
CHAMPAIGN — Police are on the scene of a reported shooting at Market Place Mall.
One victim is being treated after an incident that took place after 6 p.m.
A large crowd initially gathered outside the main entrance of Dick’s House of Sport as more police arrived on the scene.
Champaign fire trucks blocked several entrances to Dick’s wing of the mall.
There was crime tape in front of Dick’s, blocking the entrance.
There were more than a dozen law enforcement SUVs with lights flashing outside Dick’s.
The mall has been closed to the public as an investigation continues.
