TV antiques stars bring their no‑holds‑barred stage show to North Wales

A night of stories, secrets and surprises
After decades working together on some of the nation’s most‑loved programmes, the trio have taken their chemistry from the saleroom to the stage. Their live show promises a mix of behind‑the‑scenes tales, unexpected revelations and the kind of good‑natured chaos fans have come to adore.
The format is simple: three seasoned auctioneers, a lifetime of stories, and an audience ready to ask anything. From the strangest items they’ve ever sold to the dream lots they’d love to handle, nothing is off limits.
They’ll also lift the lid on their TV careers — how they got started, the celebrities they’ve worked with, and the moments that never made it to air.
How the show began
Philip Serrell admits the idea was born in unlikely circumstances.
“After a few of us went out on a karaoke night!” he said. “Don’t worry — there’s no karaoke in the show. I wouldn’t inflict my rendition of The Killers’ Are We Human or Are We Dancer? on anyone ever again.”
What audiences can expect, he says, is “a barrel of laughs, behind‑the‑scenes snippets, bloopers, antiques confessions and personal revelations… It’s going to be great fun.”
Charlie Ross agrees: “The audience will get to know the background of our lives and how we started in the business. For me, it was simply by chance — I was supposed to be a dentist. We won’t be short of interesting and humorous tales from auction rooms around the world, and I won’t be afraid to reveal the mistakes I’ve made over the years!”
A show with nationwide success
Launched in Canterbury in March 2023, Antiques and a Little Bit of Nonsense has since toured theatres across the country, drawing fans of Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and more.
Now it’s North Wales’ turn to enjoy an evening of laughter, nostalgia and insider gossip from three of the most familiar faces on daytime TV.
The show will be staged at Theatr Colwyn in Colwyn Bay on April 24.
