Huawei has unveiled a new version of its flagship smartphone, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition. The device integrates a built-in cooling fan to improve thermal performance during gaming or intensive use. It is currently available for pre-order in China. The phone has caught attention for its new design and dedicated cooling fan, with more official details expected soon.

To begin with, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition retains much of the original design language. However, it introduces visible changes to support the new internal fan system. Teaser images show a wider rear camera module with ventilation openings for airflow integration within the device body. Due to the built-in cooling fan, the phone may deliver better sustained performance, especially during heavy use.

However, integrating a fan has led to certain trade-offs. The Wind Edition features a triple-camera setup instead of the quad-camera system found on the standard model. The company had to relocate the internal hardware to accommodate the cooling mechanism. Despite this, the overall aesthetic remains premium, and the phone appears to have balanced functionality with design.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition is already listed for pre-order on Huawei’s Vmall platform in China. The phone is available in Polar Night Black and Polar Day Gold color options. Buyers can choose between two storage variants, including 16GB RAM with 512GB storage and a higher-end 16GB RAM with 1TB configuration. As for the pricing, the tech giant has not revealed the price tag yet.

While Huawei has not officially confirmed full specifications, the device is expected to closely mirror the standard Mate 80 Pro Max. This includes a large 6.9-inch AMOLED LTPO display, the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery. The phone is also likely to support 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
