Tuesday’s EFL predictions

The international break affords several EFL clubs the chance for some much-needed respite, but there will be no let-up from League Two promotion rivals Oldham and Notts County, who go head-to-head in a key fixture at Boundary Park.

The contest is a high-stakes affair with Oldham aiming to reduce their four-point gap to the playoffs and County striving to get the win which would lift them into the automatic promotion places.

Oldham approach the match on a nine-game unbeaten run and a four-match winning streak, and they are worth backing at a shade of odds-on in the draw-no-bet market.

Notts County were 5-2 weekend winners at home to Cheltenham, but it came at a cost with centre-back Rod McDonald limping off with an injury.

McDonald’s status is uncertain, but the Magpies are sure to be without fellow defender Matty Platt and their weakened state leaves them vulnerable against an Oldham side who are absolutely flying.

Doncaster and Port Vale are fighting for survival in League One and their encounter in Yorkshire could go the way of the home side.

Grant McCann’s Rovers rose to 17th after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Barnsley and they can follow with a win over basement boys Vale, who have been beaten on two of their last three road trips.
