Avalanche Game 70 at Pittsburgh Penguins: Serving Revenge? Lines, Notes & How To Watch

The Colorado Avalanche (46-13-10) continue their four-game road trip against the Pittsburgh Penguins (35-19-16). Puck drop is scheduled for 5:08 p.m. MT.

Key Stories to Watch

  • Last week, the Penguins cruised past the Avalanche 7-2 at Ball Arena, handing the Avs their worst loss at home all season. Colorado has a chance at revenge and could serve payback while remaining perfect during its road trip with a far healthier lineup than the one that lost that game.
  • The Avs got Gabe Landeskog back in the lineup on Sunday, and he scored a crucial goal in the third period. Against the Penguins, Colorado welcomes Ross Colton and Logan O’Connor back into the lineup, which means Artturi Lehkonen is the last remaining injury on the roster.
  • O’Connor had missed the entire season to date, and Colton was out for two weeks. Inserting them into the lineup means Nazem Kadri will slot in at 3C for the first time since the Avalanche acquired him on March 6. Colton will likely slot in on the second line, while O’Connor will play in the bottom six, although it’s unclear whether he’ll be on the third or fourth line.
  • When the Penguins were in Denver, Sidney Crosby still had not returned. He’ll be in the lineup and will go up against close friend Nathan MacKinnon. In 19 games between the two Nova Scotians, MacKinnon has the slight edge, winning 10 times. He also has a 25-16 advantage in points in head-to-head games.
  • Scott Wedgewood gets the nod in goal after Mackenzie Blackwood started and won two games in a row. He’ll go up against Arturs Silovs for the Penguins.
