Warrants: Man seen on video pointing gun at woman diverting traffic near Horry County vehicle fire

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A North Carolina man is facing charges after arrest warrants state video shows him pointing a gun at a woman who was diverting traffic near a vehicle fire in the Murrells Inlet area.
Officers with the Horry County Police Department arrested Ian Barry, 30, of Fort Bragg, on Monday in connection with an argument on Saturday.
Barry is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The warrants say Barry was seen on video standing outside a 2026 gray Toyota Sienna with the door open, pointing a handgun at the victim and telling her to get out of his way.
WMBF News received a video that police spokesperson Thomas Bell confirmed was connected to the case, but it was not confirmed whether it was the video mentioned in the warrants.
The video WMBF News received shows a confrontation on Highway 17 Bypass at Highway 17 Business, where a woman was in the road trying to divert traffic as a driver held a gun.

According to the warrants, Barry threatened multiple times to shoot the victim. The victim told police she feared for her safety, the warrants said.
Bell said he could not visually identify the driver holding the gun in the video WMBF News received as Barry, but said Barry is the suspect based on license plate information provided by witnesses at the scene.
Barry posted a $25,000 bond on Tuesday afternoon, according to booking records.
