After the first half ended scoreless, it was all the visitors in the second half.

In the 58th minute, Melissa Kössler would open the scoring and make it 1-0. She became only the second player in league history to score in a club’s first three regular season games.

In the 73rd minute, Natasha Flint would take the ball from goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger and put the final touches on the 2-0 win.

Goalkeeper Abby Smith and the backline of captain Janine Sonis, Megan Reid, Kaleigh Kurtz, Carson Pickett, and subs Eva Gaetino and Ayo Oke preserved the first clean sheet for expansion side.

Denver Summit FC are looking to be only the third expansion side to make the NWSL playoffs, and this was one of the biggest statements they could have made.
