Lead casting has been revealed for Beetlejuice: The Musical.
The show will make its West End debut at the Prince Edward Theatre, where it will run from Wednesday 20 May 2026 until Saturday 17 April 2027.
It is based on the 1988 Warner Bros. film directed by Tim Burton and follows teenager Lydia, who encounters a pair of recently deceased homeowners and the ghost Beetlejuice after moving into a new house.
Set to lead the show will be David Fynn, playing the role of the tormenting spooky presence. Further star names will be revealed very soon.
The musical features a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. The West End production will be directed by Alex Timbers, with choreography by Connor Gallagher. The creative team also includes scenic designer David Korins, costume designer William Ivey Long, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Peter Hylenski and projection designer Peter Nigrini, alongside specialists in puppetry, special effects, illusions, hair, wigs and make-up.
Casting is by Harry Blumenau.
Fynn said today: “It’s a show I’ve admired for a long time – bold, funny, and totally chaotic. Getting the chance to step into such an iconic role is both a huge honour and a slightly surreal experience. I’m looking forward to bringing my own take to it while staying true to what makes the character so much fun. Plus, I do look good in stripes, and I am a little dead inside.”
The musical originally opened on Broadway in 2019, returning in 2022 following the pandemic shutdown, and has since toured extensively in the United States and played internationally in Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.
The UK production is produced by Crossroads Live and Warner Bros Theatre Ventures.
