Seattle Mariners set opening day roster and players on IL

We know now who will be suiting up for the Seattle Mariners on opening day at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners revealed their 26-man roster on Wednesday, which didn’t feature any surprises.
Drayer: This season, the Mariners replace hope with expectations
Seattle’s opening day roster will include 13 pitchers and 13 position players. The group has 22 returnees from the 2025 squad and four newcomers. Two of Seattle’s pitchers are left-handed and 11 are righties. The group of position players features five left-handed bats, seven right-handed bats and one switch-hitter.
The four newcomers on Seattle’s roster are right-hander Cooper Criswell, left-hander José A. Ferrer, third baseman Brendan Donovan and outfielder/designated hitter Rob Refsndyer.
In addition to the release of the opening day roster, the Mariners placed shortstop J.P. Crawford (right shoulder inflammation) and utilityman Miles Mastrobuoni (right calf strain) on the 10-day injured list, and right-hander Bryce Miller (left oblique strain) on the 15-day IL. All three players’ IL designations are retroactive to March 22. Catcher Andrew Knizner also cleared waivers and elected free agency.
The Mariners open the season 7:10 p.m. Thursday at T-Mobile Park against the Cleveland Guardians. Right-hander Logan Gilbert will get the opening day start for Seattle opposite Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. Radio coverage can be heard on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app starting with the pregame show at 6 p.m.
