“I think it’s going to be a good time, man. I think the people who kind of know us know we like to cut up and have a good time,” Tank told the outlet. “I think it’s going to be a great experience, and I think it’s going to be a good look, especially for our brand of R&B.”

Here’s how to watch Tyrese and Tank’s Verzuz battle.

How to tune in to the Tyrese vs Tank Verzuz battle

Fans can stream the live battle on March 26, at 5:30 PT/ 8:30 p.m. ET on Apple Music and the Verzuz Instagram page.

Tyrese explains why he agreed to Verzuz battle

Speaking to Complex in a separate interview, Tyrese said his and Tank’s vocal styles are not compatible for a Verzuz battle, but he still agreed to the match.

“I decided to do it because we are in TGT,” the “Fast & Furious” star explained. “I feel like if there’s a way for us to show some appreciation for our catalogs. We tend to perform in front of the same audience, same demographic, same fanbase.”

What is Verzuz?

Verzuz gained cultural prominence during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. It started with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s virtual hit battle on Instagram.

The series evolved into battles or “celebrations,” highlighting legendary artists from a diverse range of musical styles, including R&B, hip-hop, gospel, reggaeton and dancehall. It eventually elevated from social media to live events.

Popular Verzuz battles include Ashanti vs. Keyshia Cole, Snoop Dogg vs. DMX and Brandy vs. Monica. One of the more memorable in-person music standoffs featured hip-hop collectives The LOX and Dipset at Madison Square Garden in August 2021.

Since its relaunch in 2025, iconic hip-hop labels Cash Money Records and No Limit Records, as well as music producers Hit-Boy and Mike Will Made-It, have battled.
