Ledyard High School closes due to threat, district says

LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) – A threat closed Ledyard High School on Friday, school officials confirmed.
Ledyard Public Schools said the threat was specific to the high school.
Officials were said to be notifying families on Friday morning.
“All other district schools are operating on the previous previously published schedule/early release,” the district posted to its website. “Elementary buses may be running 5 to 10 minutes late [Friday] morning.”
The district said the issue was specific to LHS. It said Ledyard police are responding.
“All students and staff on site are safe,” it said. “[The Ledyard Police Department] is providing additional support at other schools as part of our coordinated safety response.”
The district said further information will be shared as it is available.
School officials at The Woodstock Academy said their school also experienced a threat. However, they said they believe theirs to be a hoax. It’s unclear if the two are connected.
