This St. John’s season is already a success — what comes next is gravy

WASHINGTON — The pressure is off. The expectations have been reached.
Win or lose Friday night at Capital One Arena, this St. John’s season will go down as the best this century — yes, even better than last year’s history-making, 31-win campaign.
It is already a rousing success, the school’s first trip to the Sweet 16 since 1999 on the heels of Big East regular-season and postseason titles.
Of course, you won’t hear coach Rick Pitino, any of his assistant coaches or players say that.
