About as precious a three points on offer at Wetherby Road as you’ll find anywhere, for different reasons.
Both these sides were shut-out at Oldham in their most recent fixture. The Sulphurites went down 1-0 last Saturday, their third defeat in four league games which saw them slip back into the drop zone after a run of 12 points from the eight games before it.
The Magpies had plundered nine goals in their two games prior to a meek 3-0 defeat at Boundary Park on Tuesday and have now won four and lost four of their past eight games.
They needed a stoppage-time penalty from Matthew Dennis to snatch a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Meadow Lane in November, but will be hoping to improve on that to reclaim a place in the top three, for a few hours at least.
