An Arrow/Dexter crossover where Dexter Morgan and Oliver Queen hunt each other? It’s David Ramsey’s dream

Oliver Queen, tonight’s the night. And Dexter Morgan, you have failed this city.

If you’re a fan of either Arrow or Dexter, then you know exactly what those statements mean. Dexter Morgan and Oliver Queen have a few things in common. They both have father issues, they both hunt down killers, and they both make questionable decisions with their love lives.

Oh, and they both have actor David Ramsey.

Ramsey portrayed John Diggle, Oliver Queen’s most trusted ally, in Arrow. Ramsey also played Anton Briggs, a police informant who winds up romancing Dexter’s sister on Dexter. This connection led to Ramsey wondering what would happen if Green Arrow and the Bay Harbor Butcher ever crossed paths. “I did both Dexter and Arrow. It would be great if Dexter was in Star City and Oliver Queen had to hunt him down but couldn’t. That would be dope,” David Ramsey said during the Arrow spotlight panel at C2E2 2026.

“Dexter kills bad guys, right? So, would he think Arrow is a bad guy for killing people, or would he think he’s a hero,” Emily Bett Rickards asked in response to the suggestion. “That’s the story,” Ramsey replied.

“And who kills who? Who lets the one go? Who is smarter?” Rickards continued. “What if the person that Dexter caught was the person Oliver was after? So, Oliver was conflicted about whether or not he should kill him,” Ramsey countered.

David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards came up with this in seconds. Just imagine what an entire writers room could do if they had the entire weekend. Dexter meets Arrow would be the television crossover to end all television crossovers, especially if it was set during Arrow’s early years.

Dexter: Resurrection season two is currently in production. Maybe Stephen Amell could make a guest appearance as a vigilante archer. Stranger things have happened!
