Tulsa police arrest 2 after TVs stolen from train car spill during chase

Tulsa police arrested two men after officers say they were caught unloading televisions from a train car and then led police on a chase through neighborhood streets.

On March 28, 2026, around 8:45 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers responded to a call about someone breaking into a train car near Dawson and N. Lewis Ave.

The Tulsa Police Helicopter spotted two men and a woman parked by the railroad unloading TVs from the train car into a brown Chevy pickup truck.

As officers arrived, police said the two men got into the truck and drove off, leaving the woman behind.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, but the suspects continued speeding through neighborhood streets and running stop signs.

During the chase, multiple TVs in the back of the truck started falling out onto the street, police said.

Police said the suspects stopped near Tecumseh and N. Atlanta Ave.

The passenger, 35-year-old Zachary Heger, was arrested only a few yards away from the truck.

The driver, 47-year-old Donald Pelham, ran into someone’s backyard, where the Tulsa Police K9 Unit tracked him down and took him into custody, police said.

The woman who was left behind at the railroad has not been located.

Police said six TVs were taken from the train car, but only three were recovered.

Pelham was arrested for larceny from a rail car, conspiracy to commit a felony, eluding and trespassing.

Heger was arrested for larceny from a rail car, conspiracy to commit a felony and trespassing.
