Jamie Ding ‘Jeopardy!’ win streak hits 15 with highest one-day total

Jamie Ding, a former standout pupil at a Michigan high school, continued to dominate on “Jeopardy!” Thursday, winning his 15th consecutive game with his most lucrative showing yet.
The win ties him for 12th in most all-time wins on the long-running TV game show.
How much has he won?
On Thursday’s episode, Ding racked up another $56,400 in winnings. That’s the most he’s ever won on a single episode, according to The Jeopardy! Fan, an extensive online database dedicated to “Jeopardy!” statistics. Previously, his best showing was his March 17 appearance, when he won $51,234.
His opponents on Thursday were Brian Chu, a professor from Cary, North Carolina, who won $2,533, and Kikki Svetov, an entertainment strategist from Long Island, New York, who ended with $400.
Ding’s latest victory brings him to a 15-day total of $428,000. That ranks him 11th in terms of all-time winnings on the show.
What’s next?
Ding will go for win No. 16 in Friday’s episode. In Detroit, “Jeopardy!” airs on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) at 7:30 p.m.
Another win will tie Ding for 10th most all-time, according to The Jeopardy! Fan.
The record for most “Jeopardy!” victories is held by current host Ken Jennings, who won an incredible 74 straight games in 2004, earning him more than $2.5 million.
Who is Jamie Ding?
Ding is a 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School. There, he was an honor student, a National AP Scholar and placed highly in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments’ high school championship, according to the Grosse Pointe News.
Now a bureaucrat and law student, Ding currently resides in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
